The countdown to spring has begun, but there are still two more weeks of Long Island Winterfest events to help you get there. Here are some events happening this weekend that will help you get through the cold days with a full glass of wine of course.

Friday, March 10th

Suffolk Theater
Joplin’s Pearl
Janis Joplin is brought to life by the singer Long Islanders voted “Best of Long Island” for the past 4 years, Amber Ferrari. Martha Clara Vineyard
An education in wine. Martha Clara’s wine education series continues with a Winterfest Cellar Experience. Join Martha Clara Vineyards winemaker Juan E. Micieli-Martinez for a cellar wine tour. $40 per person/$70 per couple. Wine Club Members: $35 per person/$60 per couple (limit two tickets per membership). Class starts at 1pm. Vail-Leavitt Music Hall
Vail-Leavitt Music Hall, in historic downtown Riverhead, is Long Island’s oldest theater: Built in 1881, “The Vail” now hosts a wide variety of performances and presentations year-round. 2016 marked the 100th anniversary of the presentation of Thomas Edison’s kinetophone system of talking motion pictures at their theater. Spend this Sunday at the theater for a matinee of Laurel & Hardy’s The Flying Deuces. The film begins at 2pm. Recommended donation is $5 at the door. Refreshments and snacks will be available.

Don’t miss your opportunity to experience the sounds of LI Winterfest Live at the Indigo. There are two weeks of shows left. This Saturday, March 11th Southbound will take to the ballroom and Matt Marshak will close out the festival on Saturday, March 18th. All music events start at 7pm.
